    Default Tappet replacement?

Have been searching around regarding noisy tappets, as the noise has recently started on my car. Alot of answers have been on "fixes" which has been my first approach. I got given a bottle of "Nulon Lifter Free and Tune up" by the mechanic that did the timing belt recently, as he noticed the noise and told me to use it in the next oil change.
I have put that in with the recent oil change (Penrite HPR 10) but the noise is still there on start up. If the noise continues over the coming weeks, should I,

    1) Live with it? If so what are the long term problems?

    2) get the noise buggers replaced? If so how much would I be looking at? (aka per unit and approx on labour)

2a) Could I go a couple of months as baby is due in October and would prefer to get fixed after baby arrives.

    Thanks,

yeah mate, they are cheap, to buy, just labour costs are the killer, dont quote me tho.
depending on how bad they sound, you could live with it, if its just on start up, i think 50% of the guys here are living with it.
but if you do want to get it done, its no problem leaving it till after the baby arrives.
and if you are handy with tools you could do it yourself,

    Hey !
did you try changing your oil? i was aobut to do mine, i changed my oil to a differnt type (everyone who disagrees hold fireee !) i use Magnatec and i notice that it LASTS THE LONGEST and it keeps tappets quiet. It is perfect.

I tried many oils and this works best... give it a try.

So conflicting because I heard from many people/threads that Penrite HPR10 is ideal?

matter of opinoin really, there are loads of good oils outhere, every engine is different due to manufacture, year, age, mantainaince, and overall condition of then engine.
this causes the different engines to respond differently. i personally use Nulon as i found that the best.
best way to go, is get some good opinions of a oil, and try it. what u pay is what u get (most of the time)
i personally dont touch magnatec, dads used it and said its crap, and there claims are pretty sus, "it seaks out areas of ware and bonds to them"
i dont wish this to turn out to be a oil discussion, but changing your oil can help with the tappets, but is not allways the fix

I use the same, my engine noise is quite minimal as noted by MitchellO, boozer, and TUFFTR
